Database Legacy Modernization (Property Insurance): As part of Legacy Database Modernization project it is decided to modernize the existing Master database and a new IMS database will be created. New IMS database will serve as the new policy database going forward. New IMS I/O modules will be designed to handle the I/O functionalities in the new database.  New purge process will be designed to handle the policy purge process in the new IMS database. Also new CHECKPOINT/RESTART functionality with GSAM database has been implemented for Update and Purge operation.

Roles & Responsibilities

·   Responsible in providing the proposal and estimation to implement CHECKPOINT/ RESTART functionality with GSAM database for update and purge job for both BMP and DLI version

·   Responsible to come up with the complete impact analysis document for the existing system in batch for production and test region.

·   Involved in design sessions with customers.

·   Perform requirement gathering with clients and prepared requirement specifications and design document.

·   Review the design document with business users and get approvals.

·   Coded programs and modified existed programs as per specification requirements in VS COBOL-IMS/DB programming.

Online Change Amend application for Agent (Property Insurance): As a part of this project online “Home Change Amend application” for Agent had implemented for our Client. User can change couple of policy related information like Insured name, address, Mortgage Information, Insurance Coverage information etc. at the time of change amend initiated from online front end based application which will process from backend (mainframe side).

Roles & Responsibilities

·   Doing requirement analysis and also build a standard copybook which is going to use as a data communicator between frontend (JAVA app) and backend (Mainframe) thru WTX and XSLT.

·   Collecting all the required variables in that copybook and created all the accord path with the help of accord mapping designer.

·   Building entire IMS-DB COBOL modules and Cobol controller module from scratch, maintaining coding standard as mentioned by client

·   Building the entire service layer and receiving information from frontend to backend as request and also sending the information from backend to front as a response.

·   Updating IMS-DC database after each successful quote and change amend transaction.

·   Create new PSB and all the controller module and data handler module to perform change amend quote and issue transaction

·   Assembly testing is done by putting some dummy message in MQ by using QPASA software (BMC Software) to observe that all the required functionality is working fine or not and also observed that values are  properly getting seat in respective copybook in different level of IMS-DB segment or not.

·   Fixed all the defects came in integration testing phase and QA testing phase.

·   Handling this project as a Programmer analyst/Onsite coordinator in Mainframe applications

Client: one of the best Insurance Group, USA  June 2012 – Oct 2013

Online Integrated Bundled Quote Application (Property Insurance): As a part of this project, “Online Integrated Bundled Quote Application” had implemented for our Client. Previously, user can directly quote and issue online AUTO Insurance transaction, but after new implementation, if user wants user can quote for HOME insurance with current rate plan after successful quoting of AUTO insurance thru same Java based application which will be processed thru mainframe at backend.

Roles & Responsibilities

·   Building entire IMS-DB COBOL modules from scratch and always maintaining coding standard as mentioned by client

·   Assembly testing is done by putting some dummy message in MQ by using QPASA software (BMC Software) to observe that all the required functionality is working fine or not and also observed that values are  properly getting seat in respective copybook in different level of IMS-DB segment or not.

·   Dealing with integration and QA region defects and fix all the bugs. (If application is not working as per requirement then defects are raised in QC tool)

·   Fix all the post production Incidents.

Client: one of the best Insurance Group, USA  Jan 2012 – June 2012

 

Introduction of new DB2 router table and endorsement table (Property Insurance): As a part of this project, “new DB2 router table and endorsement table” had implemented for our Client. Later, which was rolled out for all 48 states (USA).

Roles & Responsibilities

·   Building entire COBOL-DB2 module from scratch

·   Creating both router and new endorsement table

·   Performing assembly testing as well as Integration testing without disturbing present production behavior

·   Fixing all the defects which are raised at the time QA, Assembly and Integration testing as well as solving all the online and batch related ABENDs which are caused due to all new COBOL-DB2 modules

·   Migrating the code (all COBOL-DB2 modules, tables, DCLGEN and copybooks) in production successfully with zero production Incidents

·   Completed roll out for all other states, without any single production fall out.

New rate plan implementation for Home Insurance (Property Insurance): To regain competitiveness in the market place and deliver target returns, the customer decided to enhance their Homeowners product with cross channel, rationally priced class plan with greatly improved pricing sophistication and segmentation. Also introduce streamlined coverage packages and new product features which would improve their ability to win agents and consumers. Wipro worked with the customer to upgrade their Homeowners product. A new homeowner’s class plan was introduced for Client to increase and improve their business in Home Insurance.
